John has been playing music professionally since he was a teenager, starting in Columbia, Missouri and playing throughout the Midwest and Hawaii. He is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for playing in the most bands (don’t bother to verify). He plays many kinds of American music (blues, country, rock, and folk) and writes some, too. He has two albums of original music (“The Maui Years”, and “With the So & So’s”) which are available on Apple Music, Spotify, iTunes, Pandora, etc.

After having played thousands of gigs, John is a lead and rhythm guitarist and vocalist who is equally comfortable performing as a solo artist or jamming with a band, backing up others, or stepping up to front his own groups.

John was an elementary music teacher in the St. Louis Public Schools for twenty–four years, where he was known as “Mr. Wilson.” John has also taught guitar to literally lots of folks at various music stores.

John is currently headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri where he performs as a solo artist, as well as with The Budget Blues Band, Two Dudes with Guitars, The SO & SOs, and the Punkinheads  (Punkinheads only available in October).
